The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), along with The Aircast Foundation, is offering a grant of up to $150,000 to support a clinical research project investigating return to play following a musculoskeletal injury.

For more information about the grant, visit AOSSM. Please note that studies investigating concussion are not eligible.

The application deadline is November 15, 2017, at 8 pm PST.

The grant will be awarded by February 2018. The project’s start date will be no earlier than March 1, 2018, with an end date no later than March 1, 2021.

The actual project can take more than 3 years to complete, and a no-cost extension can be requested, according to AOSSM in a media release.

“We are excited to provide this new grant on such an important topic for sports medicine professionals and athletes. We hope to receive collaborative, multi-center research proposals which will provide greater insights into return to play issues,” says Matthew Provencher, MD, chair of AOSSM’s research committee, in the release.
